Desjardins to invest $3Mn to support small businesses in Canada

Desjardin Group, one of the largest financial group in North America, has announced the comeback of its GoodSpark Grant program this year. Followed by previous year’s grant program which helped almost 75 regional businesses in Canada, the Desjardins Group is reportedly increasing the grant money this year to cater to twice the number of recipients.

As per sources, Desjardins has committed to a sum of $3 million to help 150 businesses across Canada. The Group has been serving communities from the past 120 years through the GoodSpark Grants program to enhance the living standards and bring a positive impact on the lives of people.

Guy Cormier, CEO and President of Desjardins Group, stated that the success of small businesses is equally important as that of leading financial cooperatives. The GoodSpark Grant is a generous way from Desjardins Group to prove their support and show their commitment towards resilience of the economy.

As per credible reports, Desjardins has pledged to initiate grants worth $20,000 to 150 small businesses which show their dedication towards innovation, sustainable development and investment in their employees. The grants will help these businesses to flourish and adapt new ideas after emerging from the pandemic.

For the uninitiated, Desjardin Group believes that collaboration is important to cater to the wants of its members, communities and clients. For the same, the GoodSpark program is their initiative to work along entrepreneurs and businesses to help them grow.

Reportedly, the Group insists small businesses to apply for the grants between November 1st to November 29th, 2021. The result of the grants will be announced in early 2022.

Businesses with 50 or less employees functioning regionally in the districts of ON, AB, MB, BC or SK are eligible for the Desjardins GoodSpark grants.
