Digbi raises $5.4Mn for obesity and associated ailments management

Digbi Health, one of the United States’ leading clinically proven genetics and gut-microbe digital care program for obesity and associated skin and cardiometabolic, and inflammatory digestive illnesses management, has recently announced securing funds of USD 5.4 million in Series A Funding round.

The funding round, as per credible reports, was led by Accel in tandem with participation from Ocean Azul Partners and Seraph Ventures, and Wisdom LLP.

Apparently, the investment is said to bring the total funding raised by the company to USD 8.5 million ever since its launch in 2018. Moreover, the financing would be used to help it deepen its lead in evidence-based, actionable and clinically-proven science of merging genetics and clinical risk markers to offer precision care for chronic inflammatory ailments.

This apart, the proceeds from the financing would further be used to forge employer, payer, and third-party administrator partnerships, along with expanding its product offerings, data science, and engineering teams in India and the US.

In addition to this, Digbi Health is also likely to add to its current clinical research partners- UC Irvine Medical School and West Virginia University Medicine, while investing heftily in an FDA approval trail for SaMD targeting functional bowel disorder.

Commenting on the raised funds, Founder and CEO of Digbi Health, Ranjan Sinha, cited that the firm is starting to demonstrate the superior therapeutic power of merging gut-microbiome, genetics with lifestyle and clinical risk markers to endorse personalized, customized, tiny changes in lifestyle and food that will have a remarkable impact on living a disease-free life.

He added that having the financial support of Accel would potentially allow Digbi to execute its vision more rapidly and diversely with payers, doctors, and employees.

Meanwhile, Radhika Ananth, Accel’s VP, quoted that Digbi’s mission-driven culture and outcome-driven approach are encouraging positive behavior change in the community and enabling the members to lead a healthy life.

She further mentioned that the Digbi team would be capable of creating and fueling digital innovations to support self-insured employers, carries, and healthcare systems to endure with the rapidly growing healthcare needs.
