LendingTree launches new password management service with 1Password

Leading online lending marketplace LendingTree has reportedly introduced an advanced password management solution through one of the prominent passwords managing platform, 1Password. Sources aware of the development stated that MyLendingTree account holders will now be able to sign up with 1Password and receive a 14-day free trial as well as a 25% off the first year.

The newly launched password management service will enable users to remember only one password. 1Password then automatically develops a secure and unique password for all online accounts on various devices to assist in keeping the account information safe.

Users can also gain access to the 1Password website and services once signed in. Moreover, the new solution will offer MyLendingTree customers the ability to choose between an individual plan of USD 2.25 per month or the USD 3.75 per month family plan.

LendingTree’s Vice President of Product Management Jason Simon reportedly stated that the 1Password feature will allow the U.S-based marketplace solutions provider to focus more on online privacy and data security.

Meanwhile, CEO of 1Password Jeff Shiner mentioned that reused passwords are some of the leading causes of compromised accounts. Amidst the increasing frequency of identity thefts, LendingTree customers who will adopt 1Password will now be able to take proactive decisions to reduce the threat risk, he added.

It is worth mentioning that LendingTree had initially introduced a free credit monitoring solution in 2018, which was powered by TransUnion. This solution reportedly monitors the user’s credit profile on a day-to-day basis and notifies of any alternations or suspicious activity within 30 minutes.

Later in 2020, LendingTree revealed that account holders will obtain free identity monitoring feature through ID Experts in order to help consumers protect themselves from any threats to their online privacy or financial health.
