As the COVID-19 pandemic has elevated the significance of hygiene and cleanliness among users, consumers electronics manufacturers are now racking up their efforts to innovate products that can self-sanitize themselves.

South Korean tech major, LG Electronics has recently come up as an ideal example for the same as the company launch its new line-up of ‘TONE Free’ wireless earbuds which it claims can eliminate 99.9% of bacteria using UV technology.

As per sources close to the product launch, the new, truly wireless earbuds (HBS-FN7 and HBS-FN6) are equipped with ultraviolet nano charging cradle that feature a UV light that can sanitize the earbuds whilst charging. Powered by DSP (Digital Signal Processing), the FN7 is developed to offer a realistic soundstage similar to the experience of listening to loudspeakers and vocals with utmost clarity.

Additionally, the company claims that its new earbuds come with a dome featuring stronger metal layer, high-quality silicone-infused drivers, and denser texture dampers for enhanced resolution at mid-high frequencies to offer fuller, richer bass.

The FN7 in particular features ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) and adjustable ear gels with trademarked twist-fit Vortex Ribs design to offer tighter in-ear seal. While the FN6 lacks the feature active noise cancellation. However, both the earbuds are IPX4-rated, making them water resistant.

With wireless, fast charging support, the FN7 will offer a battery life of about 21-hour (up to 7 hours of playback & 14 hours in the cradle), whereas FN6 will come with a decent 18-hour long battery life, supporting up to 6 hours of playback. As for the compact cradle, it would be lit with LED lighting on the top for monitoring charging level as well as UV nano status.

Citing on the price, reports claim that the LG TONE Free FN7 and FN6 will cost around US$410 (Rs 29,990) and US$343 (Rs 24,990) respectively, and will be available in the colour options of white and black.
