Luminia unveils new sustainability financing & tech platform solutions

Luminia, earlier known as SD Renewables, has recently launched a new financing solution and a cutting-edge technology platform, enabling added commercial properties to access a complete range of sustainability improvements.

With a track record of financing and developing billions in real estate assets and renewable infrastructure, Luminia’s veteran leadership team is well placed for overcoming the issues faced by business and commercial property owners in meeting ESG regulations.

Luminia’s exclusive, property-based Clean Energy PPA® and the technology platform have already been utilized by partners in the country.

In collaboration with Sun Light & Power, California’s Carondelet High School in Concord  is an example of a project operating almost entirely on solar power to lower its carbon footprint and energy bills drastically.

Noah Galabow, CFO of Carondelet High School Luminia, said that the firm offered them a financing solution in a concise period. It turned out to be an improved option compared to the ones offered by others.

Luminia saw the school as an ally and intended to serve it properly, treat it well and make it a priority which was tremendously important for the school.

The critical measure of success for the project has been energy savings. It has produced more than something expected initially, and with that, they are witnessing significant cost savings.

David Field, the co-managing partner of Luminia, earlier directed the building of only five enterprise-grade residential solar sales, origination and finance platforms.

This platform upsurged to implement more than 8,000 residential solar transactions, totaling $350 million. The co-managing partner of Luminia, Jim Kelly has experience of around 30 Years in commercial real estate, including building and acquiring more than $1 billion in real estate assets.

Jim Kelly said that in the past three decades, he has grown aware of the issues in financing sustainability improvements for the commercial real estate industry. This experience has steered discovering new ways for commercial property owners to achieve their ESG targets.
