OWC confirms acquisition of Jellyfish Technologies and LumaForge

In another noteworthy acquisition, leading Mac and PC technology company, Other World Computing (OWC) has announced the procurement of LumaForge, maker of shared storage Jellyfish solutions. The Jellyfish product line is meant to establish OWC as the provider of the most authentic storage workflow solutions, which are available for existing and new customers of LumaForge and OWC.

The joint product family comprises of Jellyfish Mobile, which is apparently the first plug-and-play video workflow server having a handle. Jellyfish Mobile has been created to be out of the server room or be on-the-go. The platform exhibits excellent performance and is developed by teams having 4 to 6 editors working with 4K media, either at the office or on the road.

Jellyfish Tower, another product of the LumaForge Jellyfish family, is easy to use and matches the plug-and-play feature of the Mobile. It is powerful to take over 6 editors working with 4K media and beyond, and quiet enough to stand on its own in the edit bay.

Meanwhile, Jellyfish Rack is touted to be the strongest in the lineup of plug-and-play solutions, built in a way to stay alongside other server room equipment. Being the go-to solution for ultra-high-bandwidth connectivity, Jellyfish Rack can seamlessly merge into even the most complex enterprise network environments.

In a statement, Larry O'Connor, Founder & CEO, OWC, said that this acquisition will not only strengthen their firm’s enterprise/server storage capabilities but also enables an even broader lineup of solutions to serve the needs of photography, video, and music professionals with exceptional new offerings.
