Samsung unveils 870 Evo SATA SSD at a starting price of Rs. 3,599

The newly launched product comes in capacities encompassing 250 gigabytes to 4 terabytes.

One of the leading electronics brands, Samsung has recently unveiled its potential successor to popular Samsung 860 SSD, called- Samsung 870 Evo SATA SSD. As per official reports, the newly 870 Evo boasts of nearly 38% higher random read performance and 30% improved sustained performance over the Samsung 860 Evo SSD.

Samsung 870 Evo SATA SSD comes in up to 4 terabytes capacity and delivers compatibility with numerous computing devices as well as Windows features, and also makes use of Samsung V-NAND 3-bt MLC memory for reliable performance.

Some of the crucial features and specifications embed in the advanced product include:

  • In terms of DRAM capacity, the 250GB and 500GB models are equipped with 512MB LPDDR4 DRAM, while 1TB variant is equipped with 1GB, 2TB with 2GB, and 4TB comes with 4GB LPDDR4 DRAM.
  • The product uses Samsung Magician as its management software boasts of 88K IOPS random write speed and 98K I/O IOPS random read speed.
  • For TBW rating, 250GB model is rated 150 TBW, 500GB is rated 300TBW, and 2TB and 4TB are rated at 1,200TBW and 2,400TBW respectively.
  • The unique selling point of these Evo SSDs is the write and read speeds that the company claims to be up to 560MBps and 530MBps.

Considering the cost of these SSDs, it would essential to note that 870Evo comes in 5 novel capacities spanning from 250GB, 500GB, 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB that are priced at Rs. 3,599, Rs. 5,999, Rs. 10,999, Rs. 21,999, and Rs. 43,999 respectively. Besides, it would be available across some of the offline and online retail channels starting January 20.

However, in the United States, the 250GB SSD is priced at USD 49.999, while 4TB model is expected to be priced at USD 529.99.
